In 1976, a young project manager left a steady career to build something of his own. When he shared his plan with his father-in-law, the response was simple — a weathered wheelbarrow pulled from a shed and a quiet charge: start with what you have. That wheelbarrow became DESCCO's first tool, used to move concrete by hand as the company built its reputation job by job, rooted from the start in hard work and integrity.
When the founder passed in 2004, his son took ownership and carried the legacy forward. Today, that original wheelbarrow sits in the lobby of DESCCO's Fleetwood, Pennsylvania office as a reminder of where the company came from — and what has kept it standing for 50 years. As DESCCO celebrates 50 years, the spirit of humble beginnings and honest work remains at its core.
